BIG HEART STARTS HERE
Join a summer of purpose and connection at Far View Horse Rescue. Our Youth Program empowers kids to build confidence, compassion, and horsemanship through hands-on care, teamwork, and outdoor learning. It’s more than a camp—it’s a place where future leaders grow alongside the horses they help heal.
FROM BARN TIME TO BRIGHTER FUTURES
Our Youth Program offers hands-on experiences that connect kids with rescued horses while building confidence, empathy, and leadership. Through guided care and ranch activities, participants grow, give back, and become part of a mission bigger than themselves.
At Far View Horse Rescue, we believe in nurturing not just the horses in our care, but also the hearts and minds of our future generations. Our Youth Programs offer a unique opportunity for young individuals to connect with horses, learn valuable life skills, and become compassionate stewards of both animals and the environment. This program operates during the summer months to provide a limited number of participants with supervised horse sponsorship time and training.
KINDNESS IN ACTION, ONE CHILD AT A TIME
A summer of purpose and play. Through horse care and hands-on activities, kids develop life skills while having a blast outdoors.
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to provide young people with opportunities to disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature. Our Youth Programs offer a refreshing break from the digital realm, allowing participants to experience the joy of working with horses firsthand.
Participants have the opportunity to learn to care for horses, receive equine education, and participate in volunteer projects at the Far View Horse Rescue facility. This is a fun, hands-on program, allowing kids to bond with horses by assisting with feeding, grooming, cleaning, facility care and learning basic horse ground and riding skills.
Kids will participate in improvement projects and horsemanship work, which grants them a sense of accomplishment. As participants expand their skills, they learn to train and assist others in similar growth and development, gaining leadership skills under the guidance of Far View Horse Rescue team.
GROWING GOOD HUMANS WITH GREAT HORSES
What sets our youth program apart is our commitment to holistic development. We don’t just teach young people how to ride horses; we teach them life skills that will serve them well in any endeavor. Whether it’s learning the value of hard work through mucking out stalls or practicing patience and empathy while grooming a nervous horse, every experience at Far View Horse Rescue is an opportunity for growth.
Participants learn the essentials of horse care—from feeding and grooming to barn chores and safety. They gain an understanding of daily responsibilities and the unique bond formed through consistent, kind interaction with horses.
Kids don’t just show up—they grow up. Through groundwork, beginner riding lessons, and real-life rescue tasks, youth build resilience, self-reliance, and pride in their progress.
Set in Colorado’s beautiful outdoors, this program helps youth disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature, animals, and their peers in meaningful, memory-making ways.
As they advance, participants support newer youth and contribute to improvement projects around the facility—cultivating responsibility, teamwork, and leadership through service.
Whether your child dreams of having a horse one day or simply wants to explore a love of animals, the program provides a solid foundation in horsemanship, safety, and equine education.
Surrounded by supportive mentors and like-minded peers, participants become part of a values-driven community where empathy, kindness, and care are taught by example—every single day.
