BE THEIR BRIDGE TO RECOVERY

OFF-SITE FOSTERING

Help a rescued horse thrive in a nurturing home environment. Through off-site fostering, you provide vital daily care, comfort, and stability while they await permanent adoption. Your commitment supports their journey to healing and a brighter future.

EXTEND THEIR CIRCLE OF CARE

BECOME AN OFF-SITE FOSTER GUARDIAN

Open your heart and home to a rescued horse in need. By fostering off-site, you provide the daily care, comfort, and stability essential for healing. Your role helps bridge their journey from rescue to a permanent, loving home—giving them the second chance they deserve.

Embrace the opportunity to transform lives—both yours and theirs—by participating in Far View Horse Rescue’s Off-Site Fostering Program.

If you have space in your barn/property and have room in your heart to work with a rescued horse, please consider taking part in our fostering program. This program is designed for the mutual benefit and enjoyment of horse and horseperson while a horse is awaiting adoption into a ‘forever home’ placement.

REASONS TO FOSTER A HORSE

The Heart Behind Off-Site Fostering

Fostering a horse off-site isn’t just about providing shelter—it’s about offering hope, healing, and a bridge to a better future.  Whether you’re easing a horse’s transition to adoption or finding joy in temporary companionship, fostering is a powerful act of compassion with lasting impact—for both horse and human.

Make a Meaningful Impact

Fostering directly changes the life of a horse by offering them care, safety, and emotional healing in a home environment.

Bridge to Adoption

It’s a powerful way to help a horse transition from rescue to a forever home—many foster homes eventually become adoptive ones.

Limited Long-Term Commitment

Fostering offers the joy of horse companionship without the full-time commitment of permanent ownership.

Support Rescue Efforts

By fostering, you free up space and resources at the rescue for incoming horses in need of urgent care.

Learn and Grow

Gain hands-on experience in horse care and deepen your understanding of equine behavior, training, and health.

Form a Healing Bond

Horses and humans often heal together—fosters speak of the therapeutic joy and emotional connection that comes with the role.

Who Should Consider Our Fostering Program?

We recommend that fostering be undertaken by experienced horsepersons, or interested people new to horses that invest in horsemanship training at FVHRR under the guidance of Kimberly Kissmann, Director of Far View Horse Rescue. Your investment will prepare a horse to become available for adoption through kind, consistent care and handling.
